Looking for a kit for a friend.

I have a good friend who's in the market for a nice players kit. Vintage is nice, but not necessary.

Here's what we're looking for: A 4 piece with the kick in the 22" - 26" size, rack tom in the 13" to 14" size, floor tom in the 16" to 18" size. Color should be darker, black, dark wood, etc... is good.

Here's what we don't want: Jazz sized drums, bright finishes (natural maple aside) like sparkles, citrus mod, etc...

Acceptable kits would be: Late 60's thru 70's era Ludwig, 3 or 6 ply shells, standards (the "lower end" line) are fine. Same era Slingy or Rogers Big R also considered.

Hardware is also welcome but not a deal breaker. Ditto on any decent cymbals.

Price should be reasonable. He knows very little about vintage drums which is why I'm helping him to not get taken to the cleaners.

Good condition reasonably priced imports (old Pearls, Tama, etc...) *may* also be considered.

Thanks folks, now lets find my bud a nice kit!!

I know this is not vintage, nor what you might think is a good set, but the very early Titan by Taye, from the 2000-2005 era is a killer kit, and I know where you can get a really nice one, with matching snare for 300. I want them, but cannot do it right now. They are bad ass drums.

If you want, it is a drive, but I can go pack up if needed. I know he will look at any offers becauise they have been listed three tim es over the last 8 months. The drum market is soft here because there are not many drummers, and an overload of kits.
