Looking for a hunk of MIJ aqua marine sparkle drum wrap

Loading...

Hello again vintage non usa drum folk

I was wondering if anyone would have a salvaged piece of aqua marine (greenish-blue) sparkle drum wrap

or maybe a shell with this color wrap on it.

any condition would do

I found a little 3 piece Leban drum kit down in Gales Ferry Ct.

20"bass,12" mounted tom, and 14" floor tom

they were missing a lot of parts and the bass drum has a huge square section of the wrap missing

the missing section takes up about half of first panel to the right

and fully visable on the lower right hand side of the drum

I loved the greenish blue color and outside of all the missing parts

and the above mentioned missing hunk of wrap

they were in pretty clean condition otherwise

and with the nearly always missing floor tom

I already had a nice matching 6 lug foil badge Stewart

snare drum back in the boneyard here

I have them fully assembled and they are looking pretty nice

I would really like to at least scab on a piece of greenish-blue wrap

to replace that missing section. .....Kenwood

Hello Mitch and grantro thank you both for the quick responses

Mitch, that wrap you have there

looks like it should work very well

the section is a sight bigger than I first discribed it earlier

the missing section as you can see by the picture,

it actually takes up a lot more than half of that first lower panel

Would you have any idea about the shipping cost ??

The regular blue sparkle "Gambles imports" bass drum shell

that came along in the deal with these aqua marine sparkle Leban shells

also helped me complete this Gambles kit I had a bass drum already but mine was half stripped of lugs and had wrap issues

while this new found shell was complete

(save for heads and the reso side hardware)

and has no breaks in the wrap

On this kit, it is only the wrap on the floor tom

that is hurting some

but at least the kit has a floor tom unlike some I have found

I just threw them together with some junk heads and boneyard parts

just to see them as a complete kit

the chrome Gambles snare drum I need a throw off there is a nice Roger's on it right now

Hi Kenwood. You could measure the gap length-wise, then I could cut the wrap in sections based on your measurement, with a 1" overlap each end. That way I could send the amount of wrap you need flat, letter-style, which has gotta be cheapest no? Post office is nearby - once I get the wrap cut I'd just walk over and find out the cost.

I'm guessing you'll only need two lengths, side by side to cover that gap. There will be holes, but possibly only one set [casing] for each length. Of course I would make the cuts to minimize casing holes...[edit]...better send the width measurement too :)

Super sweet MIJ kits you got there!

Hello again Mitch

Is there a way we might speak by telephone

my regular e-mail is Kenwood1@cox.net

if you could provide a contact number I could call you

aside from the repair of the bass drum shell

I was also hoping to harvest some inlays for both hoops

That is a cool little kit. I had the exact same kit under the Pearl "Valencia" name. Same color too!

I completely restored it and got an offer I couldnt refuse for it.
