Looking for a fun project kit $500-$1000

Loading...

On the lookout for a fun project kit from the major brands. I typically stick to Ludwig love/hate thing going on with vistalites, but I'm open to anything as long as the wrap is in decent condition. (Not looking to totally strip any shells and re-wrap but I'm fine with some elbow grease.) If you've seen something out there feel free to let me know. The goal is to get a kit back up and running and have some fun with it. I'm just looking for something to take my mind off work and give my wife and I something fun to do together. Feel free to message me on reply with pictures, or email me at dw91290@yahoo.com

Thanks!

Nick

That's great that your wife is involved as well.

Maybe let her pick a kit. She may have more interest that way too. Maybe even let you keep it!

That's what we're gonna do! She's going to look at all of the options and decide what she's wanting to do. Thanks for the advice my friend!

Depending upon where your located there are a lot of kits for a good price on Craigslist that fit what your looking to do. Really cool that you and your wife do this together.

Mine shops for shoes and I carry the bags . . . She does however love the end result of the drum refurbishing I do.

No Guru - I just love collecting & learning about vintage drums!

Some of my favorites from the kits in the collection
58 WFL New Yorker Blue Sparkle
67 Ludwig Hollywood Red Psychedelic
69 Ludwig Standard Red Ruby Strata
70's Ludwig BOP "Ringo" Kit

A few of my favorite snares
20's Leedy Black Elite
51 Leedy & Ludwig Knob Tension
58 WFL Buddy Rich Classic Blue Sparkle
63 Walberg & Auge Sea Blue Agave Green Pearl
66 Leedy Shelly Manne Blue Agate Pearl

Thanks! I've been scoping out reverb and Craigslist a ton lately. Nothing has really peaked my interest for the right price yet.

There is a late 60's 5-pice Ludwig Standard in Green Strata on Let-go for $650

It is in Maryland. A little to far for me to travel and I did not reach out to see if he would ship. I would love to add it to my collection and it looks in great shape.
