Looking For A Date

Hello Vintage drum center

Im looking for a date.

I recently acquired 2 Ludwig Toms 1-12x8 & 1- 14x10

both have the Ludwig Standard type lugs not the classic type lugs

with black & white Ludwig parallelagram badge with the serial

#'s

6191753 & 6191754 and made in the USA.The shells are thin and made of maple with clear wood finish inside no reinforcement rings and a black gloss exterior wrap.

My question to anyone out there is do you have any idea as to when these toms might have been made?

Thank you your response is greatly appreciated.

Best

I don't know for sure, but I would say sometime in the late 80's.

I might guess ealy 80's. I think sometime in the 80's they started making those shells out of press board or something. I bought two white rocker bass drums in 1987 and they were pretty cheap.

Did'nt the earlier models have a maple shell?
