JP2 Creations can retro fit one for you... it's expensive, and takes a long while, also, you have to send him the strainer to get the job done. I found, that rather than go that route, that just buying a complete one on Ebay was quicker, about the same cost, and now I have a spare one for parts if needed.

Not yet. I did speak to Jim Petty who can put a knob on for $80. I have an old muffler that I will try to take the knob off and hopefully fit it on.

There's a couple on Ebay

Item number: 250450939019

Item number: 250454601539

You might pick up one of those for about the same as Jim's quote,

and have a spare for parts to boot.

Thanks, I offered the first seller $25 and she passed and the auction ended anyway w/o a bid. I do have my eye on the second one though. That's a strange arm on it huh?

I would have passed, also.

You might expect to pay $60 to $90 for a Zoomatic.

It seems a lot more profitable to sell the parts rather than the whole drum.

For me, I don't see taking apart a perfectly good drum, or one with only minor issues, and selling it part by part.

Some sellers even separate pairs of rims, sell half the lugs per auction, etc.

I just bought a vintage set of shells with only part of the hardware, and I see lots of the parts from it for sale from the same seller. I contacted him about selling them to me, but no response so far. Just about the money, I guess.

Just thought of a song, kinda in this vein.[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d5begHSoQ1s&feature=PlayList&p=3D02157CC1A1B423&playnext=1&playnext_from=PL&index=37"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d5begHSoQ1s&feature=PlayList&p=3D02157CC1A1B423&playnext=1&playnext_from=PL&index=37[/ame]
