Look what the time capsule dropped in my lap

'68 Sonor 13, 16, 20, complete with the D471 snare drum.

Just bought this from the original owner who bought it new in '68

Complete! Not a single nut, washer or anything else missing. It's 100% original except for the rubber tips on the floor tom legs and some of the heads. The snare side head and bass reso head are the original. Even the snare wires are original.

The shells are perfect. No extra holes or anything.

Everything works! Even the quick on-off dampeners in the snare drum and bass drum.

Some of the chrome is rough in parts and the are scuffs, scratches and marks in the wrap.

I gave it a spit and polish before setting it up.

Amazing.

Are those extra holes on bass drum top? What is the purpose of them? Not sure... thanks.

Those are the heads of the screws that hold the humongous internal brackets for the tom and cymbal arm mounts. Seriously heavy duty hardware.
