Lido Supreme Snare Drum

Loading...

This drum has been sitting in the closet way too long! I finally buckled down and completed it!

The finish is the somewhat rare "Peacock Pearl", which has been cleaned, buffed and polished with Novus 1 and 2. It looks great!

Fairly time-consuming to gently remove the "Lido Supreme" badge and clean it with chrome polish. Again, came out really nice!

Slingerland-style lugs with metric tension rods and Zoomatic-style strainer. The butt is a generic one I had that fit the original holes. There is a small hole just below the top rim, directly above the strainer. Not sure why it's there! Only missing the muffler. Not quite sure what model it takes, as the two holes are placed in about the middle of the shell and "normal" mufflers don't align the felt to the top of the shell.

The shell is 3-ply, no reinforcing hoops, and about 1/4" thick. Fairly decent edges, too!

I believe this drum to be around very late 60's to early 70's and built by Star (Tama). Any additional information is welcome and appreciated!

That looks great!

I really like that pearl finish. VERY COOL! I wouldn't mind a full set of drums like that....

J!m!!

Thanks for the compliments! I've seen a few kits on eBay offered with this finish, but no snare drum. It would be cool to have a complete kit!

The "Lido" will take it's place among many of my other drums in the "drum room". Still have room for more snare drums! Not enough room for my 6 kits, which will get swapped out from time to time.
