Now that I've got your heart racing anyone bother to replace your swivel nuts in vintage lugs? Seems like it might be a worth while upgrade at about dollar each.

I've had quite a few MIJ Star snare drums with the smaller metric tension rods that can be next to impossible to find. In those instances, I've tapped the swivel nut to a standard 12-24 with no problems. Much easier than finding swivel nuts that will fit the lug. YMMV!!

I would replace them with 12/24 if there were a lot of missing tension rods. I had to do that with an oddball Yamaha 80's set with fine threaded rods,all the bottoms were missing. Should have just resold them as-is...
