Leedy Strainer/butt-plate

Loading...

Hello, I'm new to this forum. I just purchased a Leedy Reliance Model snare on ebay (some bozo painted it red) and it is missing the snare strainer and butt plate. The snare strainer is a 4-point Speedway. Anyone have these parts lying around or know anyone who would? Does anyone make repros of this stuff?

Leedy anything seems tough to find parts for. I'm also restoring an old Leedy vibraphone and I'm missing the power chord. But that I can make an alternative to.

Thanks!

AK Drums, the guys Ludwig outsourced for the Gold Triumphal and Craviatto went to for their copper shells, make a perfect repro 4 point Speedway in pretty much any metal finish(chrome, copper, brass, nickel, 24karat gold, and antiqued or pre-aged versions of all of these). Problem is, the guy's in Europe-Italy I think- and it's expensive: 155 Euros(about $220 USD). Add international shipping, taxes, and other exspenses and you might be flirtin' with $300 for a strainer.

Thanks. I spoke to him first and he quoted me at $240 USD which included int'l shipping. Considering I got this drum for $150 I'd rather not spend a a ton of money on a repro strainer. I think patience is the key here.

Thanks for the help!

You'll be waiting a long time if you are looking for an original. They are few and far between.......
