Leedy Snare Identification

Loading...

Hello, I am new to this forum and would like your help identifying my Leedy snare drum. It is a one piece maple shell with maple rims. It has 16 floating tension rods. Everything is original except the heads and the snares, as far as I know. I would like to know its age, model, and approximate value. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have attached some photos that I hope will help. Thanks!

Well, this is a very early Leedy drum. I do not have any catalogs from the early 20's. Based on the badge and hardware I say in that early time frame.

Value is not high because they just are not what most players or collectors buy. This is not to say that we would all not want one in our collection.

Still a great example of this drum and an excellent historical drum.

I would value it in the $200 +/- to $300 +/- range. BUT, that is me. Others might value it differently.
