Im in a sort of "argument" over on facebook with a guy on the leedy page who posted a COB shelly manne snare and made some statement about how the leddys sound better than the slingerlands of the same COB design because the slingerland used a thicker shell.
Also says that due to this, the leedy is prone to bending when overtightened.
Ok.. if thats true... Cool. I like to learn about stuff like this. BUT as far as I've ever been told... The shells for Slingerleedy and slingerland drums were all the same. I mean why would they tool up and make a thinner shell for one line and not the other? The shells look identical (the leedy lug spacing is even the same as slingerland.. my pops has leedy hardware on a slingy shell since his was dropped and bent)
anyway.. leedy experts please chime in
