The Slingerland tone control doesn't help the vintage value either...

Painted shell, very worn hardware, added Slingerland tone control...would make a fun restoration project or "player" (some of these Professionals sound great).

I'm guessing it will sell for $250-350.

Rich K:

I noticed that you used the phrase "these professionals."

Any idea what "model" of Leedy Snare this is?

Thanks!

It was called the "Professional" model. It was the successor to the "Multi Model".

The Multi Model was the top of the line in the teens and early '20s. The Professional was the top of the line in the mid '20s until around 1930, when Leedy was bought by Conn and production was out of Elkhart. When the move was made, the new top of the line was the "Broadway".

Rick K.:

THANKS AGAIN for the "education"! I really do appreciate it.

Were these professional models offered in both metal and wood shells? The one I've got is painted silver (not by me!) on the outside, while the inside of the shell was painted a type of black speckle. I have no idea why anyone would have painted either the interior or the exterior of the shell, but "it is what it is!" Appreciate your time!
