Well....I've finally complete the restoration of this Leedy project kit. Lots of work, but definately worth it. These are some of the best sounding drums I've ever laid ears on. Even better than some of my Ludwigs! Eye Ball
So, here's some pics of the finished kit with before resto pics to follow. BTW, according to all the catalogs, this configuration would be a "Dancemaster" model. The bass drum is a 14x26 Leedy & Ludwig from 1951, the 8x12 is a Leedy & Ludwig from 1953, the 9x13 is a Leedy from 1948, and the 16x16 floor tom is a Leedy from 1949. The snare is one of the modern reissue Leedy Broadway snares. I have done nothing to the Broadway, that is as I bought it, with the exception of fitting a Remo Rennaissance snare head and a Fibersyn 3 batter head for a more vintage vibe. The original plastic Leedy heads are in the snare's original shipping box for safe keeping. I gotta tell you, it sounds every bit as good as any of the vintage Broadways I've heard over the years. Hardware and cymbals are modern of course....with the exception of a very nice condition Ghost pedal. :D
