Leedy Gig

Loading...

I'm really starting to dig this little Leedy kit. I can't say it's the best sounding kit I've had or the coolest, but there's just something about it that inspires me to play better.

We did our version of One Way Out tonight and these two young girls were dancing directly in front of us, instead of going into my usual solo, I broke into a Gene Krupa type groove to keep the girls dancing. I was playing patterns I'd never done before live, not that they were really difficult, but it was musical, not just bashing out crazy fills. Anyway, here's a few pictures from tonight's gig.

So where are the girls?:D

Just kidding, that kit looks great under the lights. Glad it's expanding your horizons!

I love your enthusiasm about this drum set. As I've already told you, I have the same Leedy set--same wrap--same sizes--1963 version. Just imagine how much more enthusiasm you'd have with the matching Shelly Manne snare drum. My preference is for the 5x14 wood shell version that came with my drum set. I also have the same drum in its original Pink Glass Glitter wrap. Those drums both sing beautifully.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.
