Leedy Broadway Parallel Snare Drum

Loading...

I've been looking at a vintage Leedy snare currently listed on E-Bay with a BIN price of $650 OBO. It's a Leedy Broadway Parallel BDP (Item 380042414099).

My interest is due to the fact that I'm putting together a Leedy BDP kit from the same era and this one looks to be in EXTREMELY EXCELLENT condition, both cosmetically and functionally, with all original components.

Anyone out there have an idea what a "reasonable" offer might be for a piece like this? I guess the "OBO" option leaves it wide open but it's certainly not my intent to insult anyone with a "low ball" offer.

As usual, any and all feedback would be greatly appreciated.Help2

I think any offer in the high 5's or low 6's is a decent offer.

More then likely anything between 600 and 650, that snare will sell..

The system also has a counter offer option, so if you try the mid 5's then he could go up or decline..

Anything else would probably not fly with the seller.

Make him an offer of $500 and take it from there. You can always up your offer. If he's one of these spectulators/investors who buy and sell products for profit only and could care less about the history of a drum, then he'll probably want his $650.

Remember, the seller MIGHT be a member here OR has come here seeking VALUE advice on the worth of such a drum, possibly from you a while back.

I might suggest from now on when someone asks about the VALUE of any drums and or parts, we should NOT quote a cash value but, only offer a historic value to discourage speculators from "raping" US later in the future. You wouldn't shoot yourself in the foot would you?

David & JRichard:

THANKS to both of you for taking the time to provide your input.

I appreciate your comments. You've both made some very valid points. I've already submitted two offers, which were rejected. I guess it'll probably be the "three and out" for me, shortly.

Enjoy your holiday!
