Wow...great looking drum.There was one on the Staten Island craigslist a couple of years ago for 425.Seller said there was a small dent in the shell.I should not have let it get away,but it was the same seller who screwed me out of a COB super Ludwig 400.He had it listed for 450 ,and after I called about the drum,and arrainged a meet,he never showed up,and sold it for 25 bucks more.

I don't have a weakness for such VERY old snare drums - but this one looks so neat that I consider changing my mind! A great drum, really.

As the snare wires appear to meet the resonant head in a nearly rectangular shape: do they still have sufficient direct contact to the head?

Thanks guys,

This snare is very special because is a transition drum. It has the earlier floral pattern engraving typically found on drums with two-screw lugs.

It also has the four screw presto strainer typically found on drums with the later 4 screw lugs and th later scroll pattern.

I'd say all that points to your drum being mad in 1924-26.

I love it!

With the exception of the pattern and the plating, that is the same drum I just posted here;

Also 1925!
