Leedy & Ludwig WMP kit

14x22, 9x13, 16x16 and matching 8x14 snare. I also have a matching 8x15. Not the original hoops, only one came with the kick, I need to restain the replacements, didn't quite get the right color first time around.

Added a pic each of the matching snares. First one is the 8x14, date stamp 5411

Second one is the 8x15, date stamp 5212. I use this one a lot so I've taken the stick chopper off the batter side and replaced it with a cob triple flange. Fantastic drum.

Beautiful kit! I seem to be increasingly drawn to pre 1960s kits. This one's a stunner - congrats!

Thanks! They sound incredible, of course. I'll put up some pics of the snares today. I've been in love with the Elkhart produced Leedy/Ludwig & Ludwig/Leedy & Ludwig drums for years. They really were some of the best drums ever made.

Beautiful kit! I have a '53 Leedy & Ludwig kit that I need to post up in the gallery. I agree that the Conn era drums out of Elkhart are some of the most beautiful, classy and best sounding drums ever made.

Blue glitter! My favorite finish! There was a 16x18 1954 L&L on eBay just a little while ago. POst those up, I'd love to see 'em.

Cheers,

66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.
