I picked up a few old kits yesterday and here is one of them. I am no expert on Leedy drums so maybe some of you can educate me. The drums are super clean, in great shape and sound phenomenal.

Awesome kit!! I've become a HUGE Leedy fan over the last couple of years. They look more classy with those lugs & rims IMO. Great set! (I'm looking for a Leedy WMP FT if you have any for sale BTW).

Nice score! I think what you have there is a Leedy kit made by Slingerland from the early 60's.

Leedy experts please weigh in. Definitely 60's Slingerland/Leedy. Some details suggest a '66 (plus or minus) build. Did you check the interiors for a possible date stamp? Also is the interior ply mahogany, maple or possibly stained? Beautiful drum set by the way. Great wrap.

No dates. I can only see the P stamp. Looks like a mahogany inner ply at least. Wow i had never played a Leedy kit before, it sounds phenomenal.

This just occurred to me...are some of the original COB Sticksaver hoops missing? Many of the hoops appear to be triple-flange.

Do all the drums badges have the postal code "48" after "Chicago"? Do all the drums have a mahogany interior? Dark, open (coarse) grain.
