Latest Compact Bop Kit Project

Loading...

I finally found some time to get back to my roots and put together another compact kit. This time I made the bass drum extra shallow, a mere 10" deep and 16" diameter. I just wanted to try it out and it turned out great. Punchy!

The toms are 10X8.5 and 12X10. Bass and toms are Birch/Mahogany hybrid shells. The snare is regualr size 14X5.5 and poplar so it's not louder than the other smaller drums.

A customer recently ordered a custom set of wrap in a Cherry wood grain with inlay strips both center and 1" from the edge. I got really inspired while making this order and thus made a similar set for this kit.

That is really nice. I like that center strip detail.

Do you have any examples using the one named Rogers Grey Ripple?

Not yet, it's a new finish, but we have shipped a couple of orders of it, so hopefully we'll have a picture or two soon.
