Hi all you drum enthusiasts out there!

It´s been quite a while since I´ve posted here - business and family ate all my time. (But I´ve still been following what´s going on around here from time to time though:D)

And - nevertheless I´ve been on the prowl meanwhile;)

(So there´s a lot more to come - when I found the time to get everything fixed, cleaned, photographed...)

At one point, I decided to concentrate on Stars in rare or uncommon wraps.

My latest catch is a 22,16,13,12 silver badge Star kit in blue diamond pearl (that´s the term, if I recall right?).

Never saw Stars in this colour before, has anybody here ever seen one like that?

Got this off feebay for not too much money a while ago, it seemed to be in fair condition - no collector´s item, but still fine with only a few missing parts and a damage on the wrap of the 16.

I added a TAMA Swingstar 6,5x14 snare which I also grabbed for low at feebay, I just had to polish her and fix new heads and snare wires - for the first time I tried a 42-strand-type. In this condition, it sounds amazing, a "Bonzo-kinda-tone"!

Toms and bass are still how they arrived at my place: Remo PS (toms) and CS (bd). These tubbies sound thunderous! Last month I gigged with´em and am very happy with this outfit.

The first two pics are from the ad, pic 4&5 were taken at a rehearsal recently. Sorry for the poor quality (4&5), took them with my cell phone:)

Those are just beautiful. My first kit was a STAR, wish I had kept them!

Nice to hear from you again this way, Lissy!;)

Although I'm in Germany, too, I failed to watch this on ebay ...

Indeed, those Blue Marine Pearls don't come up often: it's beautiful!

Hello!

Thank you all for your kind words!

Puremusic: These are later Stars with the thicker shells and grey painted interiors.

Ralf: This had been on the bay for several times, always as "bin" for way too high. So I kept watching it until it appeared as an auction starting at 1,- and no reserve - and I was lucky!

Blair: All the best on your search! I once lost an auction with some awful pretty prems in that finish, 20-12-14 w/matching snare and thin shells. They went for less than 180,- Euros!! I could kick my ass I didn´t check back right in time!

Lingontega: What kind of Stars did you have and when did you get them?

My first kit I got in ´84 was a Pearl stencil that Sonor sold as "Champion" here in Germany. I changed its finish colour for several times, but I still have them.
