Can anyone tell me what the 2000-2002 model wood Slingerland imported snares were made from?
I bought a snare after reading that the serial number was a 200xxx series and thinking it was about a 1979-1980 model, but hadn't realized that the imports overlapped those serial numbers. I didn't pay much for it, and its probably worth about what I paid, so I'm not too disappointed, but I would like to identify the wood(s) that was/were used in its construction. I believe it was a model that was made by MusicYo around 2000. It has a natural finish, has 8 lugs, and looks a lot like the Artist series from 1979. But after finding the badge images for later models, I now know it to be from 2000-2002 time range.
I wasn't buying for resale so much as collecting, so while its not a prize or even close to it, I'll put it next to my "Savage" metal snare drum. ;)
