Late 70's Premier 18x16 floor tom value?

Loading...

First off...hello everyone!

I just joined this forum to ask a question but will most likely stick around. I have been meaning to join a new drum forum.

Anyway...I have a late 70's Premier Elite kit sizes 12/13/15/16/24. I only use the 13/16/24 and have been dying to add an 18x16 floor tom. I recently found one in the same color as mine(black)and want to buy it. At first the guy was asking an outrageous amount of money for it but I have been able to get him down to $225. I am still wanting to stay at $200. The floor tom looks to be an 8 out of 10 condition wise with the only real problems being some minor pitting on the rims and a few small scratches in the wrap. I would be re wrapping it eventually anyway so that isn't a huge deal.

Is $225 worth it for this floor tom? I have been looking for one for awhile and this is the first one I have come across.

Bob,

I would grab it. That's not a common floor tom by a long shot, and 25 extra dollars will be much less painful than waiting months or years for another one to come around. I've made that mistake before myself and regretted it.

That's what I'd do, anyway.

$25 is a big deal though. I am broke and spending $200 on a floor tom right now is to much for me(currently in financial hell). I have the money for it and could buy it but that would mean 2 weeks of ramen noodles for me haha. I am just worried that if I don't buy this now I might not find one again for quite sometime. I have just never seen one of these sell before. I know Premier arent nearly as collectible as the old Ludwig and Slingerlands and was wondering if $225+shipping is a fair price.
