late 50's George Way Bass Drum

Loading...

Here's an old GW drum I got pretty cheap. I have 2 natural 1973 LA series Camco toms and I thought it would be nice to have a kick drum to (semi) match. There were some major uglies to fix on this, but I'm happy with the drum so far...mainly just glad that it will live on. Here are some before pics.

Ouch!

I might have the BD rods you need......

What's the deal with the THAC set next to it???

The hoops are on their way right now. I will finish the hoops and then put a custom logo on the front head. I had a logo made from a pic I took of the badge! I'll try to post some after pics later....right now it won't let me upload any photos to the reply without an error screen.

The drum was a consignment at Bennett's drum shop and I think that kit must've been for sale in the background!

Welcome to VDF eam!

You're going to fall in love with that drum and the Camcos you acquired. I put together an Oaklawn/Geo. Way kit last year and I've hardly touched any of my other drums since. I have included a photo of my 59' Geo. Way 14"x20". I just finished rewrapping the entire kit in a discontinued wrap called Abalone'.

Photos of the kit please when it's completed.

Well, I got one pic to upload...here's the drum now.

Thanks so much for the offer on the rods. I actually found 8 more bowties and I think I'll sport those for awhile!

Great job on the kick!

How does it look with your toms? Would you post pics of your orphan kit?
