Yes, her stuff looks beautiful. I've always told her that. We have had a few heated discussion about some of her theories, but I'd give her the benefit of the doubt most of the time.

If you want to see what I think is the most complex and advanced snare drum in the world, then I would have to direct you to this man:

Nice drum..

I've seen those ads before..interesting and similar to the Canopus.

They need some better sound files though.

I heard the builder is not a drummer. And there is always the issue...of cracks...

Was the wood aged enough...

Anyway...

Here is a better shot of my mango...

Well, they are kind of like Canopus -except that the shell is concave on the inside and convex on the outside, making the air chamber considerably larger than the diameter of the head. And all the components are made by the guy, himself.

The only "problem" I see with Lunar's drums is that they rely on Pearl's apparatus. But they are very pretty drum shells. I definitely like the mango and koa grain patterns better than podocarpus.

Yeah,

I'm not crazy about the Pearl apparatus either..

But it works very well..

Gabrielle does a great job though..with the shell out of the free floater it feels like a violin in the hand, all book matched plys, ebony inlays with abalone and feather..a real work of art.

And..it is a devastatingly good sounding SD. Because it is only 4" depth, it is ultra "fast" in reaction time. And it is convex as well, so the shell just takes off soundwise to the slightest touch..and is very sensitive all thru the areas of the head. I've never seen a drum that reacts so. Am I happy with it? Yes! Would I buy again..Yes!. If I had to own only 1 SD for the rest of my life, this would probably be it.

Cool. It really is a beautiful drum. And I agree, Gabrielle is an artist when it comes to woodworking. One of the best shells I've ever seen in my life. I'm afraid to test one because I know I would probably really like it. And then what? I'd have to BUY one! Yikes!Chewie:

Thanks for sharing that beautiful drum with us.
