We go camping every summer with friends I have been playing with since my teenage years. There are all kinds of instruments there and every year I joke around saying that I am going to bring a whole kit. This past summer I brought a snare and brushes and thats all I played for a week. It was great! When I pulled it out at first everyone was like " No Way " . Next year I might bring a kick.

Being from a very heavy blues base, i started with a 1 up 1 down in 1964, then in 65 had a 2 up 1 down, 66,3 up(3 8x12's) 2 down with double base drums. 73 dropped one of the 8x12's and played this way till 3 months ago, now i am back to 1 up 2 down but in big sizes.. always loved the tom right of center it made for some great transitions from tom to floor toms and back.. never really cared where the ride was i could find it but now that i am much older i care i want it within easy reach.. lol
