My percussionist gave me this kit he found out on someone's curb in the trash. It was in sad shape, had rainwater in snare and kick and the hardware was dingy and tarnished. I've cleaned it up just need some stick saver copy hoops for 13" to match snare and floor tom and some slingerland repro lugs and kit will be 100%. Snare is closest thing I have in my arsenal to a Radio King. It pops and it's lively to play when tuned right. it seems to "bounce" better than many other snares I've had. Wrap is kinda cool and in good shape for 40some years. I cleaned it up thoroughly, steel wool #0000 on chrome, simple green on shell wrap followed by a coat of Vaseline rubbed in real good, then wiped off before brisk polishing with polish type cloth. the petroleum by-product readily absorbs into the dull, dry plastic wraps and voila! shiny drums!

That is a coveted color. Shells - thin or thick (rings?)
Also - I have discovered at least 4 different Slingerland imitation MIJ lugs. You will need to look closely at that. (see attached pics)
Congrats!
I had a great day! Instead of sleeping in and wasting the day, I got up at 8 and I had all my slacking done by noon!
