I get to go take a look at these on Saturday!
Killer Radio King Set
Oh! Those are sweet! Without digging out my Slingerland book, what is the difference with the snare and rear floor tom lugs vs the rest. Age? If so, nice match with paint pattern.
I think it's a Hollywood Ace Swing Model Radio King with the streamlined modernistic lugs from '39 or so. I see the torpedo and streamline lugs on toms from the thirties in the cat scans and Cook book. Some mods on the FTs, I think they were in cradles back then. Looks like Niles lugs and push button leg mounts on one FT, and bracket mounts on the other.
So yes, either vintage with mods, or a newer FT with a good paint job.
Whichever is the case, worth a look-see. I believe he's willing to separate.

I believe I've moistened the keyboard from my saliva drips. Wow. That is an unbelievably sweet kit. If you bring that bad boy home...pics galore. :)

I'd be walking home with them on my back.... I'd have to sell my car to raise the jack. ( there's a song in there somewhere )
Perhaps the snare......
If to separate he dares.....
OK, I think I'm done with that
BTW it is his idea to separate, not mine
( "Water Song" by Hot Tuna kicks butt !!! )
I just pulled that record out of my archives for a listen, how weird is that! You are right, that song is pretty cool.
