I’ve had some child sized drum kits around the home and my Granddaughter had outgrown them. I decided to customize them for fun. Here’s a couple I’ve done. The black one, I wrapped in a black vinyl alligator skin, added a tom. The red one, I made a custom 13” white and red Leopard faux fur wrapped floor tom.

Olimpass!

Excellent work! You did good by giving them new life!

I picked up a kid's "Marigold" kit on eBay many years ago. $25 plus cheap shipping! The first 4 pictures are from the eBay post. The seller even put a red circle around a drum head to let buyers know it was "dented"! It was easy to see there was nothing wrong with the heads! All the hardware and cymbals were included. The snare drum used a tone control with some snare wires that came up against the top head for a "snare" sound. I installed some snare beds and a "real" strainer and butt. Installed some Attack heads on the batter side of the toms and snare, along with a 16" tom head I had for the bass drum batter. It sits over at my girlfriend's house and is a hoot to play!!

Very cool idrum4fun! Reminds me of a mini silver club date.

I’ve recently been playing with another one which I didn’t have a snare stand. I used floor tom leg mounts and threaded rod to support the snare drum then decided to do the same for the second tom/floor tom. It’s a tad wobbly but working on a solution for that. This is a 10,10,12,16” set up.

Thanks idrum4fun!

The ingenuity came from watching lots of videos, getting ideas and experience building my suitcase drum kit also.
