Both drums are in red sparkle and were made in 65. I can purchase them for..... $50 is it worth it?

I would need to see the bottom bearing edges first. Oftentimes, when people removed the bottom rims to make "concert toms" when they were all the rage in the 70's, the drums got hauled around with no cases and sat on those exposed bottom edges. Sometimes, they were handled carefully enough to escape damage. Many times, they didn't. $50.00 probably isn't a bad price unless they are really messed up, though. You can't buy two bags of groceries for $50.00 nowadays.Burger Kin

Sounds like a deal to me. Hardware and badges alone (if you parted out-God forbid!) will go for $70-100 on the bay. Those shells sound like the nice 3 ply shells Ludwig is famous for. Are they painted white on the inside? One of my best sounding toms is a 13" Ludwig Black Diamond pearl made in '64...go for it Excited
