I'm trying to locate a key holder to replace the dented one on my Leedy floor tom. Anyone happen to have an extra? It's the type that you sometimes see on vintage marching drums. I've posted a couple pics of the dented holder currently on the drum. It appears to be about a $.50 piece to me but the key obviously is finding one being offered as a "stand-alone" item. THANKS for your time!
The one on my Leedy & Ludwig marching snare was about as bad as yours, and I was able to straighten it out using basic hand tools. I used some screwdrivers that fit inside the holder to get it opened back up and a small soft-jaw vise to help with the rest of the straightening. Also, having the drum key handy also helped, since that was what I was fitting the holder for...lol...basic metal working theories will get it back into useable shape and with minimal finish damage. I polished mine after all the work with nev-r-dull wadding and it came back nicely. Chances are finding another holder all by itself may take quite a while, so this may be an option for you.
