Kerope series

From BosLover

Dan and I listened to this recording a few times and then went to play our copy. While individual taste always comes in to play, we both preferred the sound of our 22" Kerope over the one is this clip. While it may be a result of the recording process, we both felt our copy had better stick definition and a more pleasing (to us) wash.

You managed to latch onto a winner then.

And I stumbled onto this one too. Not of the same series, but to my ear a very good one:

What do you think?

And I do dig this one maybe better than any of the other Kerope's I've heard yet:

Proof positive that there are winners out there. So why didn't Zildjian bring some better ones to the show?

Very nice, but not our cup of tea. Too bright and metallic sounding by comparison. Not in the same league as our Kerope in our opinion. This cymbal doesn't sound like an old K like to our ears.

Dan and I just spend a few minutes listening to this video independently of each other. While it's a recording and therefore it's difficult to make a direct comparison to a cymbal we've only heard live, we both came to the same opinion that this one sounded very similar to ours. Although the sticking on our copy seems slightly woodier than this one, that may be a result of the recording process, room acoustics, the sticks being used and the technique. All in all though, we came to the conclusion that the one in this recording would be a keeper. I wonder what it weighs. Our 22" weighs in a little on the thin side at 2386g.
