Kentucky Fried Chicken MIJ WMP??
couldn't get the video but this isn't a joke about drumsticks is it?
Not a joke but that is a clever idea! Yes Sir
Some guy living in his parent basement sitting behind a vintage WMP kit playing video games and eating new chicken bites.
It's pretty kit... I just couldn't identify it.
You can highlight the link and select open in another tab or cut and paste the link.. or go to kfc.com and choose newest commercial.
I will take a stab and this is purely a guess.....
It is a Slingy stencil kit. The lugs look like sound king lugs to me and I am not sure about the rail consolette for the toms. I don't know enough about those. I can't really get a close look at the kick drum T-rods so I am going with Slingy stencil kit.
Fire away gents. Call out your coordinates and sink this battleship!!!DOH

Yeah.. the lugs look Slingerland and rims appear to be stick savers... I need to dig out Rob Cook's book. I don't remember any "real" Slingerlands with that looong rail consolette. Clearly no badges on anything.
I thought it was interesting that this kit would show up in a commercial as opposed to something much newer. What prop room has that laying around for 40 years?
Yes, very good point actually! I guess you never know. Maybe the guy got that gig because he had a set of drums and that was one of the casting call questions? I guess anything is possible out in Hollywood. Heck, those may even be Mikey's or Vinnies drums out on rental!!!LoLoLoLoLoLoLoLo

Saw this commercial on TV the other day and was like "whoa thats a vintage slingy kit!!" it flashed too quick for me to see that it was a stencil. Thanks for posting the video, I was curious about that one.
Funny how musical instruments pop up in commercials or ads every now and then. Usually it's comic but then advertising is increasingly going standup.
Red Rose tea ( i think that might be a specifically Canadian brand??) had an add years ago with chimps acting as a jazz combo. One of them ,actually spun the standup bass!! I'm not sure what that says about lobotomization and bass players. ouch
