Keller shell water cooler Last viewed: 4 days ago

Loading...

I just saw a sample of one of these coolers that my company (Keller) makes the housing for.

Cooler is made by Thermo Concepts in Sherbrooke Canada, and is the Cima model.

Looks like 6 ply maple, 5/16" thick. The sample was 12" diameter.

How about one of these with an actual tuneable drum head for a top, and a glitter or oyster wrap!

As far as I can tell, these coolers go for about $600!

Guess we won't have these in the office any time soon. Too expensive.

That's not too bad price wise. Your basic water coolers are $200-300 and can go way up from there. And that one has a very classy look to it. The one we have at the shop was $400 installed. And it's nothing special with a plastic cover. The water isn't filtered either. :p

Matt,

You work for Keller? Just out of curiousity, for what other "non-drum" products does Keller supply shells? This water cooler is definitely cool.

I do work for Keller, for 28 years, but not for the part of the company that makes the shells.

I am the Chief Of Maintenance for their flight department.

They use the plywood molding process to make architectural columns, furniture, and other products that require formed plywood.

Keller Products is the division that makes the shells and other wood products, and if you go to their website you can see some of the stuff.

I get to see a lot of the samples of various products because we load and unload them from the aircraft.

When Mr. Keller Sr. passed away, his ashes were buried in a special box that was basically a Keller drum shell with a lid.

From Matt M

When Mr. Keller Sr. passed away, his ashes were buried in a special box that was basically a Keller drum shell with a lid.

I do this gig once a year or so and the backstage is in the front waiting room of a funeral parlour. So, between sets I get to looking at the urns (and prices) and thinking to myself that I own at least 3 snares I wouldn't mind being buried in.

1964 Ludwig Champagne Super Classic
1970 Ludwig Blue Oyster Super Classic
1977 Rogers Big R Londoner 5 ebony
1972/1978 Rogers Powertone/Big R mix ebony
60's Ludwig Supersensitive
Pearl B4514 COB snare ( the SC snare)
Pearl Firecracker
PJL WMP maple snare

There are many ways to spend time between sets at a gig.

Window shopping for my final resting place is not one I would expect.
