Hello Everyone-
I have a genuine handcrafted Kashian 20" medium ride cymbal, made in Italy.
It is in good condition ( obviously looks old). Does anyone know what I should ask for it $$, as I have someone interested in purchasing it.
Thank You.

Roughly around $40-50.
The cool thing about these cymbals is that they are a cheap, no-name brand that often times sound like Zildjian A cymbals from the same era. I have a 20" ride that I love that I got for $25. That was an okay deal. I see these cymbals selling for around the same prices as ZBT/ZHT/B8 prices, or $30-40 around Portland, which I assume to be about $40-50 elsewhere. $50 is on the generous side, if it's in tip-top shape and sounds great.
Well, maybe a bit more than $50, but not much. If it sounds exceptional, then $70-75 is fair.
If I was buying without hearing, I'd go $60, tops.

There's also the question of what series. The 1960's ones were the best, being they were of B20 alloy, the same as all the top line cymbals. That is probably what people are pricing against. In the 70's and 80's they made them from B8 if they were inked Kashian by UFIP or Kashian Pro. If it is a kashian 2000, it's just big brass paperweight. Someone might give you $20 for such a cymbal.
Thank you for the replies. Mine is engraved and very difficult to read. It says "Kashian" and has a line going from the top of the K that goes straight across the top of the word Kashian and loops down around the n. Below this it says "CYMBALS" (all caps), below that it says "genuine cast" with what looks like the the number 57 after the word cast, then the word "HANDICRAFT."(all caps), Below everything, "Made in Italy" is written in an upward curve, like a smile.
The word "MEDIUM" is stamped in black bold lettering - all caps.
So does anyone know what year(s) it may have been made?
Thank you for your help. I'm just trying to ask a fair price for both myself and the buyer.
Pictures are the best way to get help. Show the whole cymbal, as well as closeups of the engraved stamp and any ink markings.
It does have an exceptional sound. I think it it sounds better than the Zildjian Custom A's that I have.
This is the best picture of the engraving that I could get. Obviously there are some symbols written after the the word "cast," but I don't think it is the number 57 and I'm not sure what it is. At any rate, I know this particular cymbal was purchased in the 70's. If it is a UFIP, does it decrease its value?
It also obviously says "HANDICRAFT," not handcrafted, but it is.
