Very nice for a New Stamp. Very rare weight for a New Stamp. Not sure the light weight in a New Stamp pays such dividends Soundwise as it would in a IV or III II or I
New Stamps are like that middle ground Old K. Where thin--'is not that' earth-shaking .
Would I trade that even for my New Stamp 2877g ? I don't think so. Not what I heard there. And his touch wasn't that good for highlighting the Bell nor the side stick (which he didn't do) and the Crash of his was ..imo /inappropiate/ and rarely used/.
But no I wouldn't trade even.
I would like to hear one about 2360 (22" New Stamp)
Them New Stamps need a little meat to them
whereas the other stamps seem to revel more in low weights.
Sounds very old school swing /jazz
I like the ride sound -at least from what I can hear from this terrible recording. But the crash sound isn't very lovely at all.

I completely agree with that. I have one thin and one medium-ride type. The so called "heavy" is a favorite. Cymbals canh get to a certian thin-ness where they actually start tp loose tonality. The wash becomes a wall of white sound. A great cymbal is going to have a discernable notes of a musical chord in it.

I make little circles with the stick to find tone I like.
