K Zildjian 20" type IIIc Sizzle questions

Loading...

Hey Vintage Drum Forum people.

First post.

I've had the cymbal described in the subject line for about twelve years and am looking into selling, however I am fairly uncertain about its value [i.e. if the rivets decrease value, etc.] and was wondering if anyone would like to chime in. I've read many posts regarding this topic [helped me determine the vintage, and I hope I'm correct] - and recognize how important these instruments are to many here, which is why I registered. Enthusiastic devotees! It's been used on many recordings and I do have a few samples of it as well ...

Haven't weighed it, but it's on the lighter side for sure, no cracks, very minimal edge wear, rivets look to be almost as old as the cymbal, if not the same age [not sure how they did that in the old days].

I sincerely hope I'm not breaking any forum protocol by making SALE/value inquiries in my very first post [please PM me if so]! Just wanted to confer w/ experts before just throwing it up on Ebay w/o proper knowledge --- would love for it to have a fine home; it has served me well.

Comments/advice appreciated!

Thanks in advance --- and any brief advice regarding forum rules or no-no's appreciated as well.

[COLOR="SeaGreen"]No worries...this is as good a place as any to post the Q.....

That's a nice cymbal. Personally I despise it when someone drills an old K....but those rivets don't look recent...I dunno if they are factory but they obviously have been there a long time. So it wouldn't negatively effect the value.

Also, it still has the sig AND...the remains of the label. That's both COOL...and very GOOD for resale value.

Probably vicinity of $900-1000 or so on eFlay. On C'list maybe $800-900. Back in 2007 or so, it could'a fetched about $1200...but I do believe those days are over; although folks still try to get those sorta prices...nobody's biting over $1200 anymore....[/COLOR]

Thanks a bunch for your response! That helps. And thanks for the PM on the subject [will get back to you soon, Bill].

Another question: What's so special about the Ks on Ebay that go for $1500-$2500?? Are they older? Are older As worth more? I'm still cramming for my Zildjian history test!
