Just received a dented skin.

- just a quick 'trivial' question, I've just received a 14" remo skyntone, am going to see what it's like on my 60s slingy snare, but it looks like they've been a bit rough with the box, the skin is just slightly dented in, will this affect it to much? (I don't think I should put it on the drum till next week as I want my guy to have a look at the batter side edges for any slight separation). It is creased in a bit at one edge.

I tell you what I hope the American vintage that's due at the end of the month isnt damaged- I've only been waiting about 3 months for that to come. This is shocking. The pics are bad - don't show much, but it's actually out of round as well. Most places say fragile and have some tics tape on.

I'm lucky as there's a Long& McQuade [music store] just up the way here, but did once buy a BD reso with the same dent, only discovered when I got it home and out of the box. It was fine and formed nicely to the shell, but I do check all heads now before purchase. Even though it wasn't a big deal, I'm sure we all like new things we buy to be reasonably pristine...especially given what we deal with when we buy all that old stuff. :)
