From vintage drum bug

Let me know if you want to get rid fo the 12"!!!!!!

The 12" is pretty integral to this kit. It'd be criminal to split them up.

Wow! Nice pics of those old Hayman kits. I referbished an old Hayman kit when I was a Senior in High School. It took me a while to take everything aprt and clean it all up, and put it back together, but it was worth it.

I'm pretty sure the school STILL has them! I saw the kit some time back when I went to my 25 yr class reunion.

For those whom might not know, it was an old set of Hayman drums that were the basis for Neil Peart's "ArtStar" prototypes often refered to as "The Weapon"! While the band was doing final Mixing for the Rush album, "Exit Stage Left", He found them lying around at "LeStudio" in Quibece, and since he was board with not much to do , he too took them all apart, cleaned them up, put new heads on them and decided that Thinner Shells were the Key to Great sounding drums....and he was RIGHT!

Long Live the Professor!

Quick progress update. Nearly done but as you can see in the pics, the batter side BD hoop is not a Hayman original. I have, however, just sourced one (2 actually) from ebay that will arrive in the post in a couple of weeks. I even spent some money having some repairs done to the original snare stand only to find it doesn't adjust low enough for me - ah well.

It's come up very well considering the condition when I got it. And it sounds really good. I've used the snare a bit with other kits too, and it's brilliant.

Your kit looks terrific! I recognized it from the Hayman page on FB.

Hayman drums really sound good. I just came in from a gig, filling in for a friend. I got quite a few compliments on the way they sound from folks in the audience and band members.

Thanks guys. I'm very pleased with how it's turned out. Can't wait to use it live and will be giving it a go in the studio too.

Thanks for the email Mark - looking into it.
