have just bought this kit, 12,14,20,14 snare, some hoops with inlay would be good, but I will post on the buy/sell page. Is this wrap more commonly known as tiger eye or root beer swirl?

Very cool little kit. No idea what color that is.

That is a really good example of classic MIJ drums. Battleship lugs, hex-rod single mount with a 14 FT. The common designation is Root Beer Swirl. Pearl did not make Pearl-badged Battleship lug drums for very long, maybe 2-3 years.

I just seen an old Whitehall snare in a pawn shop in that finish. It's a cool color up-close & personal.

that is a beautiful set of drums. i, myself, would refer to that color as root beer swirl. one of my favorite wraps.

congrats on your purchase and i hope you enjoy them for a long time.

thank you for sharing. the hoops may be fairly easy to find but not so sure of the inlays, hope you do tho. ill keep an eye open for ya.

From the links Mark provided, it looks like you (alot2008) scored on a cataloged kit called the No. 45 Challenger Outfit. Very, very cool find.

Very awesome score! I had Whitehalls in that same wrap however with a 16" floor and loved everything about it!
