Just finished the Kent kit Last viewed: 14 hours ago

Finally finished my Kent coffin lug kit. The only thing not original is the wrap on the snare. Excellent match though. Extremely heavy mufflers, maple shells. Had them sitting in pieces for a couple years maybe? Going through a tough time with some family issues and needed some "drum restoration therapy" Couldn't have done it correctly without our very own forum member "Mouse" I also have original Kent hi hats, cymbals and sticks, not in the pic. 68' date stamp in all the shells. What do you think?

The most beautiful Kent kit I've ever seen.

Question: how did you come about the floor tom? Seems Kent floor toms are a really tough find.

Holy Cow! That turned out beautiful. I have an old Kent snare drum that is complete with calfskin heads, original stand and a cymbal holder and original little cymbal. It seems so fragile that I'm scared to play it or take it apart to clean and polish it. Congratulations on your kit!

Larry, the FT was original to the kit. Saw these in the back round of a Craigslist ad pic for some other drum parts. They were in a guys basement and were a mess. Missing a lot of parts, 45 years of grime. There was no snare and some missing lugs. I was able to get an original coffin lug drilled snare shell, thanks to "Mouse" Took a year to find the odd throw off and butt plate. Precisions "Antique WMP" was a perfect match. My first kit was a Kent, so this kit holds a special place right next to my Rogers and Gretsch kits. Here's a pic when I recovered the snare

Sounds like it was meant to be. Destiny, that you came across this especially with the floor tom. Congrats again. Wish I had a complete set. Someday... :)

Wow! That is the most beautiful Kent kit that I have seen as well. I love those lugs and the wrap on the snare is spot on. I would have never guessed a rewrap on the snare. Excellent job and thanks for sharing.
