I have looked at perhaps , 10 sets of junior drums , over the years and found most of them lacking in so many ways , that it seems a beginning small drummer , would be better off with an adapted , smaller full size kit. Unfortunately , not everyone can afford a Sonor Jungle kit or a Kings kit for a 5 year old.
I own one kit, which at first looks pretty poor----there is no head tensioning and it goes together with a bunch of clips but on closer examination it is a purposeful kit, designed to do the job with minimal fuss , stay tuned and playable. It's a Remo Quadura, PTS kit. 16 x10, 10x6 1/2, 12 x 10.( I could put a small snare with it) The hardware is cast and reasonably durable. The pre-tuning, o.k. and they are made in the U.S.A.
Does anyone out there have any experience with these and comparatively, how would they be for a very young beginner, compared to a another more conventional small kit.
