You did what any sane drummer would do, you risked your life driving under hazardous conditions to get them and now, you're going to spend the rest of your life playing them.Nothing out of the ordinary... :pGreat score! Welcome to Camco Heaven!John

Laughing H Ain't that the truth, Juanito! I have yet to join the Camco club, but I know it will happen some day...

Thank you. And yes you're right Mr. Purdie I almost turned around when on the dark highway I saw the flashing overhead signed warning of possible icy patches ahead. But I forged on though, sweating bullets. The seller wanted to keep the snare but I coaxed him to sell it as well.

The seller has a nice Rogers butcher block kit for $550 for sale now, and may be selling a keystone champagne sparkle Ludwig with 18" bass (not converted), keystone Ludwig Ringo kit, black onyx Rogers and/or Ludwig black diamond pearl.... I'm thinking he may be willing to listen to any offers. If anyone is interested let me know. In meantime I'll check to see if can give his contact info. He won't ship though. So if you're in Western, PA, Ohio, WV area you are in luck.

Same here with the Clubbies - TO to Hamilton in the dark during rush hour, alone. It's kind of a great feeling though eh?

This song always comes to mind heh - [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gASM80WaBZM"]Going the Distance - Cake [Lyrics] - YouTube[/ame]

As a member of the Camco club you now boast about it all the time and have the right to pay insane amounts of money for very small pieces of hardware....if you can find them.

You do however have an extremely rare finish there which appears not to have faded to hell and it all looks very playable. I too have a bass drum painted black in the interior - would like to get it off.

Rule of thumb for Oaklawn and Chanute badge drums - if originally wrapped, the interior was painted, if a lacquer finish, the interior was clear lacquered.

If there's no USA on the Oaklawn badge they were very early 1960s.

Don't get too hung up on the minutiae of chubby washers and that sort of thing. No one will know and it'll send you mad. Just play the best drums on the planet.
