V2, I have 2 on my main kit for a couple of reasons. 1) I like to center my rack toms over 2 kick drums. this pushes the hihat cymbals out a bit. In order to keep my pedals together, I went with a cable hat. When Pat Torpey was with Mr. Big in the early 90's, I found out he was doing the same thing. Good to know. 2) With 2 kicks, I wanted a second hihat mostly for closed purposes. When adding to the kit tho, I thought why not make it a remote and keep my options open. The second hats allow my chest to open up when singing.

I have also used a remote hat with other kits and played 16ths between the 2 keeping an open body....

I have to say I didn't spend a lot of time with it, but it did feel good and was quick. It is not the answer if you are looking to add a hat on the 'other' side of the kit, but if you just want to offset the hats from the pedal, this is a good solution.

The owner/maker said he has been trying to break his for a couple of years with no luck. So they are durable... for him.
