John Grey Piccolo Snare Drum

Loading...

What's on the bottom for a snare head, Dave? I have a few of these floating head drums and have found that ,in order to tune them well, you need to have identical heads top and bottom, or a slightly thicker one on the bottom. I know this is counterintuitive but otherwise the snareside ends up being too tight , when the batter is at the proper tension. Best solution I have found is to use diplomats top and bottom, or some other light 5-7 mil head.

Hi Phil...many thanks for the information mate..top skin has a John Grey Headmaster skin and the bottom also has the same but cannot read the inscription any more...also the 12 snares are still the original ones and have John Grey inscribed.
