Hey all,
Here is my newly acquired green sparkle John Grey Capri set...I just got these yesterday so I haven`t had time to clean them up yet...The wrap is near mint on all drums except around both bass drum spurs where they have been both "punctured" through the shell as if someone sat on the drum...Someone has attempted to fiberglass the one spur hole inside the shell...I think that I can fix this, but it will always be the weak point...
The snare has all original components including wires & reso head...Badges are present on all drums and haven`t been tampered with...Mufflers are all there including the bass drum...The floor tom and tom mount are missing, but, it came with a set of Kamal (Made in England) 13" hi hats and 14" cymbal...Also included were Sonor & MIJ snare stands, cymbal stand, Olympic bass pedal, throne, etc...
Can anyone shed some light on these? I have searched the net for info, but, came up empty handed...What vintage are these? Are these an entry, intermediate or advanced level kit? Value? Collectability? Will finding the missing tom mount and floor tom be a challenge?
Included are pics of all 3 drums starting with the bass drum...
Bass - 22"x12" - 6 lugs per side
Rack Tom - 12"x8" - 5 lugs per side
Snare - 5"x14" - 6 lugs per side
As always, I appreciate the knowledge that this Forum has to offer...I am not well learned on English made drums...
Thanks in advance...
Cheers
