Here's another one.........

Late 50s or early 60s, I don't know enough about them to narrow it down.

I have a '57 and '63 catalog scan, and the pics look the same.

I think it's a model 514 in the '57 catalog and a model 515 in the '63 catalog.

Birch or beech shells, very nice hardware as well..Olypic,Edgeware,Broadway,etc....Do they compare to the MIJ products in your opinion?..They are plentiful in England [no surprise]...i wish they would surface here more often as well.

Hit like you mean it!!

These do pop up every so often in the U.K.

I got mine on Ebay for £30 all in.

It was covered in dirt and had splashes of white paint on it.

The description said something like ...."vintage drum, been sitting in the shed for years".....

I had no idea it was WMP from the pictures.

Not sure of the year of manufacture. I think, looking at the Catalogue on this site that it is the 515 model.

The rest of the kit wasn't up for grabs I'm afraid.

Sounds cool. Not that versatile, but has a lot of character. I'm sure it will find it's place.

Cheers, Blonkins.

Not versatile? Pop a calf head on it, (roughed for brush work) and report back! ;)

There's no comparison of ANY British made drum (mid 30's to mid 60's) to any MIJ, MIT or MIC ever made! 3 to 5 ply birch (mostly 3), beech rerings and Diamond Plate Chrome (Rolls Royce Chrome).
