A few years ago my father passed away, he was a lifelong marching bands drummer/bugler in the Royal Corps of Signals and then Royal British Legion.

I was given this drum which he had stored in the garage and whilst researching it I can find quite a bit about John Grey & Sons London but no info regarding this particular badge and nothing about their rope drums.

Perhaps someone can help me with an age and value.
