John Fogerty Live at Red Rocks

This post is somewhat on topic because it's about a vintage artist and a great drummer in his current band.

I just watched the recent PBS two hour special of John Fogerty: 50 Year Trip--: Live at Red Rocks. The man still has it as a singer and musician. I have looked in vain for a list of the band members. But, I did recognize the incomparable Kenny Aranoff as the drummer. The band had a guitar player who alternated leads with Fogerty, a bass player, a keyboard player who played mostly a Hammond-sounding organ, a drummer, and horns on a few numbers. There were two ladies singing backup along with some of the guys in the band. Kenny did his usual great job of playing for the song on every song. He had an extended solo near the end of the show that was enjoyable to see and hear.

I was amused that Fogerty closed the concert with Proud Mary complete with horn section playing the arrangement that Tina Turner used. Thankfully, Fogerty skipped the slow grinding first verse that Tina put in her rendition of the song. Fogerty went for the high energy fast version from start to end.

Do yourself a favor, and watch the show if you can.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

We seen John Fogerty live back in 2012...It was a 2-1/2 hour concert including all the hits and the album Bayou Country played in it`s entirety...

Kenny Aronoff was spot on and played what was needed...It was a great privilege to see him live...

Here are some pics from the concert...

Cheers
