One of the two I can see in the photo (under snare) looks like a Shure PE54D. If so, it's similar to the Shure SM57 in appearance, but has a peakier response. Can't tell about the others, although they look a little like Beyer to me.
Edit: On second thought, the others look like some sort of Sennheiser similar to the MD430.
live or studio??
you can get in the range of john henrys sound, give this a go, it will help you alot, this will give you alot of Info on drums, head selection, muffling technique and the mics that were used by John Henry. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_mrNjz_U0ZM&feature=related[/ame]

Forgive me my "editing", but the question posed by jeebee was: "Does anybody know what mics John used? ", and specifically the two in that particular picture. Your philosophical comments/arguments of "trying to sound like Bonham" have merit of course!, but not in this particular thread. Carry on!

Not sure about the mic in that exact picture. I think Jeff Ocheltree has stated that he used Shure SM57's to mic up JBH's Vistalites and Stainless Steel kits.
Good question :).
