I decided to start using my 12" tom, tune the toms a little higher and put the tom as low as possible, hence the snare stand. I also angled the cymbals in and only used the two. Makes you approach the kit differently, I like changing things up from time to time, keeps me fresh.

Nice setup.

Have you tried inserting the tom arm from the underside of the dual holder to get the tom lower?

I actually don't like using the tom arm, it's a pain getting it set at the right angle and when I do it will slip ever so slightly. The snare stand is much easier to deal with.

Better sound not so dead, also I like just two pies that’s enough

April 2nd 1969 scarfed pink champagne holly wood and 65/66 downbeat snare, and , supra same year very minty kit old pies
66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.
